Admission Process & Eligibility
A clear, six-step process — the same standard applied to every family, at every grade level.
The Admission Process — six steps
Our admissions team is available to guide you at every stage.
Register your enquiry
Begin online through the Dunes Academy website, or in person at the Admissions Office — both routes are equally valid.
Submit the application
Complete the Application Form with all required supporting documents. Submission does not guarantee admission; it opens the formal assessment stage.
Written assessment
All registered applicants appear for a written assessment in age-appropriate subjects. This is not a competitive entrance exam.
Interaction with the Principal
Shortlisted students, with parents or guardians, attend an interaction conducted by the Principal and the Admissions Committee.
Offer letter issued
Successful candidates receive an Official Letter of Admission, with instructions for document submission and fee payment as per the Prospectus.
Confirm enrolment
Complete document submission and fee payment within the stipulated timeline. A seat is confirmed only after payment is received.
A few points apply across every grade: Science and Commerce streams are available for Classes XI and XII; as per CBSE board regulations, direct admission is not permitted into Class X or Class XII — a student must complete the preceding class at Dunes Academy; and all admissions are subject to seat availability. Day school applications typically close on 15 March each year, and boarding interest registrations by 15 February — we recommend applying well ahead of the upcoming academic session, as the school reserves the right to revise timelines and seats can fill before the stated date.
What to Expect at Every Stage
Dunes Academy is committed to making the admission process transparent and straightforward for every family.
Open through Class XI
Admissions are open for Nursery through Class XI in full, and for Class XII where a student is progressing from Class XI at Dunes Academy.
No exemptions
All applicants must complete both the written assessment and the Principal’s interaction — there is no exemption.
Seats are limited
Admissions are subject to seat availability at every grade, so early application is recommended.
Eligibility & Age Criteria
All age calculations follow CBSE norms and are based on the child’s age as on 31st March of the academic year in which admission is sought. If your child reaches the required age on or before this date, they are eligible for that session.

Please note: No relaxation is granted in the minimum age limit — CBSE’s mandate applies uniformly to every affiliated school, including Dunes Academy. The government-issued birth certificate is the primary proof of age; an Aadhaar card showing date of birth is accepted as supporting proof. Age criteria are identical for day school and boarding applicants. As per CBSE regulations, direct admission is not permitted into Class X or Class XII.
Documents Required
All documents are verified in person at the Admissions Office. We recommend gathering everything in advance. Bring original documents for verification along with self-attested photocopies — originals are returned the same day.
Nursery to Prep
Birth Certificate; Aadhaar Card (student and parents); 4 passport-size photographs of the student, 2 each for parents; Medical Fitness Certificate; Address Proof.
Class I to VIII
All Nursery–Prep documents above, plus Transfer / School Leaving Certificate, previous year’s report card, Caste Certificate (if applicable), and Migration Certificate (only if transferring from a non-CBSE board).
Class IX to XII
All documents above, plus board exam mark sheet (Class VIII / X, as applicable), Character Certificate from the previous school, Migration Certificate (mandatory if transferring from a non-CBSE board), and stream preference declaration for Class XI (Science or Commerce).
Direct admissions are not permitted in Class X and Class XII as per CBSE regulations. If a document is not ready at the time of admission, provisional admission may be considered in certain cases, subject to submission within a specified period — please discuss your specific situation with the Admissions Office.
