Dunes Academy follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) framework across all classes, from Nursery through Class XII, with every lesson plan enriched by real-world context, hands-on methods, and co-curricular depth.
Our curriculum is not a one-size-fits-all model. Younger learners explore through play and activity. Middle and secondary students build conceptual rigour. Senior students prepare for board examinations and competitive entrance tests — all within a structured, supportive environment. The goal is consistent at every stage: every student leaves with strong academic foundations, independent thinking, and the confidence to pursue their chosen path. Pre-Primary — Nursery, LKG & UKG
Our Pre-Primary programme nurtures curiosity, creativity, and early language development in a warm, play-centred environment. Children build foundational skills through structured play, storytelling, art, and sensory activities rather than rote learning, with a focus on social-emotional growth, motor skills, and the confidence to explore.
- Nursery — first steps into school life through songs, stories, colours, shapes, and guided play.
- LKG — pre-literacy and pre-numeracy readiness through hands-on art, craft, and counting activities.
- UKG — reading readiness, number sense, and a confident, well-prepared transition into Class I.
Progress is tracked through continuous observation and portfolio-based methods — there are no formal written tests at this stage. Parents receive regular written updates and meet teachers each term.
Primary — Class I to V
The primary years are filled with wonder, not pressure. Our programme blends CBSE rigour with joyful, activity-based learning across English, Mathematics, EVS/Science, Hindi, Art & Craft, and Physical Education, so children develop genuine understanding rather than rote recall.
Assessment follows CBSE’s Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation model — ongoing class activities, projects, and periodic tests rather than a single high-stakes exam. Small teacher-to-student ratios keep instruction personal, and dedicated library periods build a lasting reading habit from Class I onward. Beyond the classroom, students take part in weekly art, craft, music, and dance sessions, daily age-appropriate sports, and seasonal festivals and excursions.
Middle School — Class VI to VIII
The middle years mark a shift from guided exploration to structured inquiry. Students study English, Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Social Science, Hindi, and Computer Science, supported by dedicated subject teachers, smart classrooms, and laboratory sessions that connect theory to practice. Art & Craft / Music and Physical Education continue as timetabled subjects.
Periodic tests and term examinations, graded on the CBSE 9-point scale, track progress consistently through the year, with results shared with parents alongside a teacher’s written remark. Alongside academics, students take on leadership roles in student clubs, sports, and cultural programmes — building the confidence and communication skills that carry into secondary school.
Secondary — Class IX & X
Classes IX and X follow the CBSE secondary curriculum in full board pattern from day one — English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and Hindi, taught by subject-specialist faculty and supported by fully equipped Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories and a dedicated Maths Lab for visual, activity-based learning.
Assessment combines periodic tests, half-yearly examinations, and pre-board examinations that mirror the CBSE Board format, with internal assessment (20%) and the board examination (80%) contributing to the final Class X result. Science practicals are evaluated separately, and results are graded on the CBSE 9-point scale. As per CBSE norms, direct admissions are not offered in Class X.
Senior Secondary — Class XI & XII
Classes XI and XII offer two streams — Science and Commerce — each taught by specialist subject faculty. Science stream students work in fully equipped Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories and receive structured guidance for JEE and NEET alongside their CBSE preparation. Commerce students build financial and analytical literacy through Accountancy, Business Studies, and Economics, connected throughout to real-world case studies.
Assessment includes unit tests, half-yearly examinations, and Pre-Board I & II, culminating in the CBSE Board Examination for Class XII. Class sizes are kept manageable so every student receives individual attention as they head toward board results. Across every stage, a few principles hold constant. We emphasise understanding over memorisation — students explore the “why” behind a concept before applying it, building durable knowledge that serves them well beyond the exam hall. Technology-enabled smart classrooms support visual and interactive learning through digital boards and multimedia content, while communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving are embedded across subjects rather than treated as extras.
Art, music, sports, and student clubs are structured parts of the school day, not separate from academics — building leadership, teamwork, and confidence alongside classroom learning.
