Apart from academics, the school pays great attention to making sure children feel happy at school and that they are loved and taken care of just like at home. Each teacher has 10–15 students assigned to him or her who take care of all the emotional and academic needs of the children. This is a tutoring system that the school uses.
Dunes Academy offers strong emotional support to our students. The school has an emotional support team that is available for students throughout the day to help with any personal or class-related issues. Low self-esteem and negative attitudes towards education can lead to low academic and behavioural performance. This often leads to learners not going to school regularly and not making academic progress. We want to give learners another chance to succeed.
Our academic phase programme includes introducing children to "Chota Bheem", who teaches them that you always have someone to talk to. Bheem is a very special friend. We love to write letters and hug him. The EQ (Emotional Intelligence) Program helps children deal with different issues. It gives them essential life skills and resources. This is always accompanied by a lot of laughter!
Children will always miss their home and parents at one time or another. The school creates a warm, informal teacher-student relationship that fosters mutual understanding and respect. This helps to provide parental and emotional love. The house parent ensures that students’ daily needs are met. A counsellor is available to help any child overcome obstacles that may prevent them from reaching their full potential.
The daily menus are displayed at the start of all meal lines. Items that are offered as portions or lunch will be listed under the protein, grain, milk, fruit, and vegetable areas at the top of the menu.
